The FDNY EMS Pipes and Drums Band's second annual post St. Patrick's Day Parade celebration was a huge success.

We hope you will join us again next year as well. Please encourage your colleagues to be a part of next year's festivities.

Some Bagpipe History

Initially, bagpipes were considered instruments of the "common" people and used predominately outdoors.

Materials for the bag vary widely: most common are skins of local animals, for example, goat, sheep, cow, pig, and so on. In modern times, pipers have experimented with modern materials such as rubber, Gore-Tex, and other airtight fabrics.

The FDNY EMS PIPES AND DRUMS BAND

would like to thank all members of the

FDNY EMS Command who came out and supported

the band at the NYC St. Patrick's Day Parade.

Your support helped make the Band's appearance

an overwhelming success. We hope you will continue

to support us, as we strive to promote unity,

and build morale within our service.
